| My duties and responsibilities are to work in partnership with BME communities, DRE Community Development Workers, statutory and voluntary providers of mental health services and the criminal justice system to support the development of culturally sensitive appropriate services. I am working on the development of a multi-agency advisory group to facilitate this process. I aim to engage in mapping and reviewing current services, strategies and action plans in order to identify needs and ensure the development of new and innovatives approaches to improve information, access and experience of mental health services and the criminal justice system which will meet the need of the diverse BME communities. |

Hello my name is Suzanna. I am working with the Chinese community in Derby and Southern Derbyshire to address mental health issues through community engagement in the following ways: - to increase understanding and lessen the stigma and fear of mental health issues and mental health services - to improve access to mental health services - to identify and remove barriers in mental health provisions - to capacity build the community to empower them to have a stake in the Mental Health Agenda and - to work with mental health service providers to develop culturally appropriate mental health services for the community. |
