Membership of the Forum is open to any voluntary organisation operating in Southern Derbyshire that provides services for people experiencing, or recovering from, mental health problems. Membership is free.

The purpose of these meetings is:
- to exchange views, information and opinions
- to receive feedback from our representatives on local planning groups
- to respond to issues arising from local planning groups
- briefing sessions
- to bring to a wider audience issues of general concern

The Forum meets every two months on Tuesday afternoons at various venues across Southern Derbyshire.  Additionally, a joint countywide with local commissioners is held twice yearly.  It is open to all member organisations.

An open agenda includes discussion on policy issues, speakers, networking and presentations form member organisations.  Occasionally additional meetings are organised to discuss or respond to urgent policy documents.
