VOLUNTARY SECTOR LIASION SERVICE

Angela Kerry works as the Voluntary Sector Liaison Officer for all voluntary sector mental health organisations in Southern Derbyshire. She acts as Secretary to the Southern Derbyshire Voluntary Sector Mental Health Forum, and represents members on the county-wide planning systems for mental health. This allows her to feed in common concerns from the voluntary sector, and bring back information and news of opportunities for service development to members.

Angela co-ordinates the election of voluntary sector representatives to the local Mental Health Forums and other multi-agency groups, and supports their input into the planning system.

Angela also works closely alongside staff and volunteers of organisations in Southern Derbyshire, giving development advice and support, and transferring skills so that the capacity of the organisation to deliver their services is improved. Advice covers all aspects of development, including legal and constitutional issues, charitable status, employment issues, funding sources and support with applications, training and networking opportunities.
